Welcome to Learn Languages Fast!
Are you learning a language to make travel more interesting? Perhaps to communicate with family and friends?
Do you want to keep your mental alertness and have heard of the benefits of learning a language in warding off Alzheimer’s and mental decline?
Perhaps you are learning just for fun and personal development? Or maybe, like me you are learning to build skills for your professional career?
Regardless, you need to know what’s available, what works and what doesn’t, and to hear the hints and tips of other language learners so you can be inspired and motivated to focus on your learning.
We talk about learning language fast – what that means, what it DOES’NT mean, and how you can optimise your learning so that you can learn languages faster FOR YOU.
However, what you *won’t* find here are empty promises that you will be able to become fluent in a matter of days or months. I’m not even going to tell you that you spend five minutes a day on Duolingo, and in a year you will be able to have great conversations.
What I will share is my language learning journey, the experiments I try, and what works for me… and what doesn’t.
Hi, I’m Cate, an aspiring polyglot. I love languages, and I love learning, and I love using my languages to speak with people I otherwise could not.
Welcome to my site, where I aim to help and inspire you to learn each new language faster by sharing my experiences.
If you want to hear about my earlier exposure to languages and how I learned Dutch and Auslan, feel free to pop over and read my language story.
Otherwise, grab yourself a cup of your favourite brew, pull up a comfy chair, and delve into my blog to read my latest discoveries!
Cate is a language enthusiast sharing her language learning journey here. Apart from her native English (albeit 'Strine'*!), as an adult she has also learned Auslan (Australian Sign Language) to approximately a C1 level, Dutch to around B1/2, French to around A2, and has a smattering of other languages.
B.A. (Anthropology/Marketing), Grad. Dip. Arts (Linguistics), Grad. Cert. Entrepreneurship & Venture Development, (CELTA).
