Hindi Language

The Hindi language is an Indo-Aryan language spoken primarily in India.

It is one of the official languages of the Indian government, alongside English, and serves as the lingua franca across much of northern and central India.

Hindi is written in the Devanagari script and has official status in several Indian states.

With nearly 340 million native speakers and over 600 million speakers in total, Hindi is one of the most spoken languages in the world.

It shares much of its grammar and vocabulary with Urdu, another major South Asian language, with the primary difference being the script; Urdu is written in a modified form of the Persian-Arabic script.
