In one of the assignments in my Add1Challenge (#A1C33) we were asked to write down or make a reminder in some way for why we wanted to learn this language. This is a really good idea for all language learners – even if we know why we are doing something,
Add 1 Challenge
The Add1Challenge was a popular language learning initiative that aimed to help participants achieve conversational fluency in a new language within 90 days.
Created by Brian Kwong, the challenge encouraged learners to dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to language practice and engage in daily conversations with native speakers or fellow learners.
Participants documented their progress through regular video updates, sharing their experiences, struggles, and victories with the community.
The challenge emphasized the importance of consistency, immersion, and speaking practice in language acquisition.
Benny Lewis took over the Add1Challenge in 2016 and renamed it the Fluent in 3 Months Challenge.
While the Add1Challenge is no longer active, its principles continue to inspire language learners worldwide to set ambitious goals and pursue fluency in their target languages.

Why Learn French?

Add 1 Challenge 33 – Assignment 2
Within the Add1Challenge there are a variety of assignments and challenges set for us. This week Assignment 2 addresses motivation – remember why we started the challenge, and find some creative way to keep that reason in front of us as we study; and secondly, to consider the first two
Add 1 Challenge 33 – First Week Review
So the first week of the Fluent In 3 Months Add 1 Challenge #A1C33 has passed (actually, it’s Thursday already, which means we are half way through week two!), and we were asked to review our progress for the week. I discovered in my first face-to-face French conversation lesson that
Joining Group Challenges to Improve Language Skills – The Add 1 Challenge
I have found the best way to learn a language is to set goals – but sometimes, especially when learning a language is somewhat of a hobby, it can be hard to set a goal and stick to it. Unlike making a quilt or a birthday card or a cake,
